Thomas Croft have worked on numerous high-end projects including the Royal Yacht Squadron in Isle of Wight - a new-build pavilion to compliment the Squadron's existing facilities in a cramped Tudor castle.

The build included contemporary rendering of the traditional garden pavilion with a copper roof and an exposed steel structure.

The Daily Telegraph's review called it 'an admirable marriage of modernist ideals and conservative values to create a practical building that will give great pleasure'.

'A list' back-up

The company ensures the quality of their work by using technology they can trust.

Following a recommendation from an Apple architecture specialist, Thomas Croft uses a G-RAID to make two daily back-up copies of the server, and two G-DRIVE minis to do hourly back-ups.

Tom Croft said: "Compared to alternative drives, the G-Tech is faultless and far more robust. As we work with CAD files that interlink together, these have to be saved properly at the right time. We also work closely with clients and often make many amends to designs for the perfect result. We have to make sure all the versions are stored safely in case the client changes their mind and wants to go back to a previous design."

It's also key that their emails are all backed-up for legal reasons. For example, in the event of one of their buildings suffering fire damage, they can evidence that they had permission from all relevant authorities to fit fire alarms in specific areas.
